Ilias Paraskevopoulos lives and works in Thessaloniki, Greece for the last 17 years. He was born and grew up in Germany. In 1997 he had his first professional contact with the drug scene as a streetworker in clubs for the project ePP (ecstasy prevention project). He worked for over 1 decade as a counselor and therapist with drug addicted teenagers. In 2004 he started to work additionally as an online counselor. In 2014 he coordinated the working group of KETHEA (www.kethea.gr) for processing the software and framework of the online-counseling tool of the organization. He is also member of the South-Eastern-Europe expert group of Pompidou Group (Council of Europe) on online interventions for demand reduction (www.drughelp.eu).
Ilias studied social pedagogic and socialwork in Munich and he is a systemic family therapist. In 2017 he started to work for the Therapeutic Community KETHEA ITHAKI (www.kethea-ithaki.gr).
